Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Quality Technician for our North Kingstown, RI location.

Description: The Quality Technician will work to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability through the development, management, and continuous improvement of the business. Ensures safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures. Works on continuous improvement activities and certification systems in conformance with ISO programs. Performs review of components, subassemblies, and products to ensure conformance to engineering and quality requirements and will work together with cross functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions for any nonconformance in material or workmanship of our products and processes. Responsible for supporting efforts to reduce or eliminate defects and improve quality of products and processes.
Responsibilities:
Assists the Quality Manager and Quality Engineers in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality system
Assists others daily on continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system
Ensures that products and processes comply with the requirements of the quality system
Conducts manual inspections to qualify parts and Suppliers
Assist Production, Materials and Purchasing personnel in the timely resolution of non-conforming product.
Assists teams with root cause and continuous improvement efforts to improve both part and process quality
Maintains technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses
Required to incorporate clean work practices in daily working routine
Understands gage inspections and the use of gaging to verify acceptance with design requirements
Learns from and studies experienced Quality Technician's techniques and work
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma with additional quality skills training a plus or equivalent combination of education and work experience
0 - 2 years related experience
1 year of dimensional and visual inspection experience in the mechanical area preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning skills
Creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient in MS Office. Word, Outlook and Excel required
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
A good understanding with experience in incoming inspection techniques, blueprint reading, and GD&T
Comfortable with hands-on work in laboratory environment.
Works under close direction as well as in a team environment
