Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President and Dean of Enrollment, the Director of Enrollment Analytics is a member of the University Enrollment senior management team and understands admissions and financial aid strategies for undergraduate students and how to harness data and analytics to shape, influence, and model enrollment. The Director will develop and refine data-driven strategies to inform enrollment and ensure leadership has the data and analysis needed to make informed decisions that advance institutional and division goals. The Director will be a critical source of expertise on enrollment management analytics for leaders across the University. They will have a strategic understanding of the role of enrollment analytics in the support of new student enrollment, student success, student retention, and tuition revenue.

This position will lead the development of analytical approaches towards enrollment forecasting and assessment of recruitment initiatives. The role will be key in moving University Enrollment to the next level of strategic enrollment planning through its use of data-informed analytics. Additionally, the role will provide leadership across the enrollment management spectrum in harnessing the value of University data to inform strategy.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Uses expertise and data-derived insights to develop Enrollment Strategies and provides critical analysis of student enrollment.
  • Creates predictive enrollment models, using predictive analysis and descriptive statistics, and translates these into recommendations for action.
  • Ensures that enrollment management leaders have relevant and structured data to inform enrollment strategy. Serves as the lead for developing enrollment metrics.
  • Understands how various financial aid strategies create access for first-generation and low-income students as well as how aid strategies can be used to leverage enrollment and advise on financial aid strategies.
  • Uses data reporting tools available through third parties such as the National Student Clearinghouse, College Board, ACT, and COFHE data sharing to analyze trends and inform strategies.
  • Analyzes indicators to understand how enrollment management supports student success.
  • Accurately assesses information and applies applicable law, policy, and procedure. Considers the long-term implications of actions today and advises employees appropriately.
  • Works collaboratively with Institutional Research to ensure common data definitions, best practices, and shared reporting principles.
  • Partners with Admission Operations regarding Slate CRM administration and quality control and data integrity.
  • Management of student surveys such as admitted student questionnaire. Reports data internally and externally as needed.
  • Supervises staff as assigned by the Vice President and Dean of Enrollment.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education required; Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred.
  • Five years of directly comparable experience.
  • Extensive experience in higher education, particularly enrollment management; recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and retention.
  • Experience supervising and training staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical concepts, data manipulation, Slate CRM, and programming of statistics software (SPSS, R, Python, or other).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct sophisticated data-driven analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain sophisticated analyses and technical concepts and conclusions to a non-technical audience.
  • Exceptional communications and data presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders and to develop productive professional relationships across a complex institution of higher education.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with a high degree of discretion and tact.
  • Forward-thinking, collaborative, has a sense of urgency and engagement, honesty and candor, and a personal presence that is approachable.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Google Analytics, Cognos, and MS applications.
  • Familiarity with FERPA and other federal compliance polices.
  • Readily shares information and is comfortable
  • Genuinely values teamwork and co-workers.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $140,000-$155,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
