Posting Summary
Rutgers is seeking a Coordinator, Faculty Personnel Administration for the Office Of Academic Affairs within the School of Public Health, located in Piscataway, NJ. The Coordinator, Faculty Personnel Administration will oversee daily operations of the Faculty Personnel Office to ensure proper procedures for faculty appointments, reappointments and promotions. Act as content expert on Faculty Affairs for the school and serves as liaison to the Dean, Chairs, Administration and University departments with regard to Faculty Affairs. Oversee faculty human resource matters.

Duties will include:
  • Ensures that faculty appointments are done properly and in a timely fashion, processing the appropriate documents and submitting the package to the University Faculty Affairs Office for approval by Chancellor's office, the Deans' Committee and/or the University Board of Governors.
  • Will work with SPH Faculty Affairs Leadership to examine different ways of recruiting faculty as well as continuing to refine the review, promotion, and tenure process.
  • Maintains and ensures the confidentiality and accuracy of the school's faculty data base for input into the University's Faculty Information System (FIS).
  • Assists departments with review and approval of faculty leaves of absence; ensures proper procedures are implemented regarding medical leaves/FMLA for all faculty, as called for by union contract.
  • Initiates faculty searches; responsible for input of faculty positions into the ROCS System.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area plus five (5) years of related experience.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Strong leadership, project management, interpersonal and team skills; excellent written and communication skills and the ability to plan and organize multiple projects simultaneously, including ability to determine priorities and to work under deadline pressure on assignments. Proficiency of computer skills including advance knowledge of software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, BANNER, PeopleSoft, and Perceptive Content (Faculty Information System).
