Summary

Electrical Assembler Level 1-3 are responsible for assembling a variety of subassemblies and/or finished products for the Production department reporting to the Production Manager. Additional responsibilities include functional tests to meet specifications, quality checks, and on-time deliveries. They report directly to the Production Leads and Production Manager.


Essential Functions

  • Reports to work consistently and on scheduled time.
  • Must follow SIG's Cardinal Rules.
  • Able to work in fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Able to work from Assembly Drawings, verbal instructions, work instructions when available, and production boards.
  • Assemble a variety of subassemblies and finished assembly products.
  • Work carefully to prevent scrap and rework.
  • Build products to the established standard.
  • Proactive in identifying and communicating simplification methods and potential cost reductions.
  • Seeks out new challenges.
  • Immediately report any tools or machinery that is not operating properly to the Production Lead or Manager.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration while working toward team success.
  • Has the ability to work both independently and with others.
  • Diversified work requires considerable judgment, initiative, and effective decision-making in the midst of change.
  • Participate in group, department, and safety meetings.
  • Customer-orientated and works to exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment, including the use and implementation of 5S.
  • Package, and add all components and documents, in the Finished Product shipment.
  • Record production data daily.
  • Perform operating tests per product checklists.
  • Assist in the training of less qualified employees.
  • Able to read/understand blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Detailed understanding of part/product specifications and tolerances.
  • Cross-trained on multiple assembly products.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced employees.
  • Take a leadership role related to safety observations, JSA's, work instructions, and reporting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS


Level 1

  • Basic abilities - Cuts wires to specified lengths, using wire cutters. Cuts plastic sleeves and slips sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections. Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping device. Neatly routes, combs, twists, wraps, ties, and attaches wires through wire way to terminal points.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow Electrical Schematics.
  • Ability to identify wire color, gauge and conductors.
  • Ability to identify electrical components.
  • Familiar with and adhere to Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing assembly environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
