The Role

As a Senior Data Governance and Quality Consultant at Cognizant you will play a critical role in driving data governance initiatives and ensuring data quality across the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain the integrity, availability, and security of data assets. Additionally, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to establish data quality standards, metrics, and processes to improve overall data reliability and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps.
  • Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct data quality assessments, identify data quality issues, and develop remediation plans to address them effectively.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to establish data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to business units on data governance and quality principles, practices, and tools.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to promote data governance awareness and knowledge across the organization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and quality matters, providing recommendations and solutions to address complex challenges.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in data governance and quality management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience of 10+ years in data governance, data quality management, or related fields, preferably in a consulting capacity.
  • In-depth understanding of data governance principles, frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Strong knowledge of data quality assessment methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience in implementing data governance and quality solutions using industry-leading tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, IBM InfoSphere).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in data governance or data quality (e.g., CDMP, DGIQ) is a plus.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government

Work Authorization

  • Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $95,500 -$214,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
