Introduction to the job

The WF Optics New Product Introduction (NPI) Product Lead is accountable for program leadership in optical manufacturing. The Product Lead will own schedule creation and task planning while also guiding execution to meet overall program quality and schedule requirements. This individual will lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and initial industrialization of complex optical components and assemblies for ASML's next-generation systems. The Product Lead will evaluate products for Make / Buy decisions, taking into account the manufacturing competencies for a competitive advantage for ASML in technology, cost, or time to market. The candidate will interact with various production and design engineering teams, as well as senior management at the Wilton, CT and Veldhoven, NL sites.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

The WF Optics NPI Technical Lead will:

  • Operate in a cross-functional team to ensure manufacturability of optical designs, visualizing and executing process flows that ensure successful product realization.

  • Demonstrate technical versatility, possessing both theoretical and practical (hands-on) optical manufacturing expertise.

  • Own end-to-end product development, understanding process interactions and interdependencies at a product level.

  • Possess 5-10 years working experience with materials such as: zero CTE glass ceramics, ceramic composites, complex wear resistant tribological coatings and optical coatings.

Contribute 5-10 years working experience in multiple optical manufacturing disciplines, such as: 5-axis CNC machining to form complex structures, lapping and polishing to figure optical surfaces, lithography or laser ablation to create sub-micron surface modulations, thermal processing for annealing and complex bonding technologies for ceramics and glasses.

Education and experience

  • BS in an Engineering field required, advanced degree preferred.

  • Project management certification preferred (PMP, Lean, etc)

  • Minimum 3 years program management work experience in a high-tech, production environment

  • Has interfaced with internal/external customers at technical/task management level.

  • History of completing individual and team-oriented tasks under tight deadlines

  • Intermediate-to-advanced computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint

  • Ability to analyze data, identify critical content, and drive discussion/action with various stakeholders.

  • Adaptability to changing processes and plans in a high-pressure, dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to interact and influence at various organizational levels to achieve short and long-term goals.

  • Ability to enjoyably mentor and support junior project managers and process engineers.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
