Description

We are looking for an energetic, driven, service-oriented Training Specialist that will deliver high-energy training programs to all, from new hires to seasoned staff, and can assist in the development and modification of the training programs taught.


The Training Specialist is an effective communicator and solution creator, who can command a room while demonstrating their desire to help others learn our industry and technology. They aren't bothered by change but in fact welcome it knowing how different situations demand it.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging training courses precisely through facilitation, learning activities, and exercises.
  • Coach and mentor employees to achieve expected proficiency levels; evaluate and document performance; serve as a technical resource and assist trainees in handling member transactions and questions; provide additional coaching and one-on-one training as necessary.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and communicate training classes efficiently.
  • Actively train all Credit Union employees. Provide refresher trainings based on recommendations from management.
  • Develop and implement ideas to achieve goals and objectives; utilize resources effectively; participate in evaluating work processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Provide knowledge assessments, quizzes, and competency evaluations to prove employees understand and are able to perform their job.
  • Assist with creating, developing, and updating training materials, training courses, procedures, and modules.
  • Must encourage and motivate attendees during training sessions in order to increase participation and provide constructive feedback for training improvements.
  • Confer with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
  • Take initiative and provide refresher training based on recommendations from staff and management.
  • Maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times consistently demonstrating our WHY and adhering to the Employee Handbook. Deliver friendly, caring service to internal and external members.
  • Travel throughout the state of Alabama will be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be able to practice effective presentation skills both in the classroom and online.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to deliver information clearly and effectively.
  • Must be flexible and adapt to change quickly.
  • Must be able to identify learning styles and adapt training and coaching to meet the needs of individual trainees.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the state of Alabama for training classes, as necessary.


Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience conducting classroom training. Employee development or training experience in an adult setting preferred.


Education: A two year college degree in education, training, HR, or related field preferred. Relevant experience in conjunction with other education will be considered.
