Job Description

Summary

  • For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $5,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Diagnostic Med Sonographer.

    Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

    Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

    Position Summary
    • Provides health care services, applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages and physical abilities. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at, the request of a licensed practitioner.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Graduate of an approved sonography school preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Current ARDMS Certification or obtained within 1 year of hire. Current CPR certification.
    • Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred.
    • Maintains Ultrasound knowledge by attending meetings or by the use of journals and articles
    • Obtain appropriate CEU to maintain licensure
    • Seek opinions of Radiologist or other sonographers when a case is in question
    • Able to use Vrad/Synergy system for off hours exams.
    • Understands protocols and procedures for each exam
