Job Description

Primary Purpose
Lead, develop, and implement robust supply chain strategies and objectives in support of our large-scale engineering/procurement/construction (EPC) projects, capital projects, operations, and project development for Sempra Infrastructure. Partner with team members, internal clients, and stakeholders to identify and improve sourcing and contracting needs - which includes overseeing sourcing practices, supplier selection and contract drafting and negotiations. Work collaboratively across the organization to deliver wide range solutions related to the supply chain processes and engages key business stakeholders to drive and improve service levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, global strategic sourcing activities for assigned capital projects with a focus on driving value in specific functional environment, including legal and regulatory context. Understand and actively challenge technical specifications, commercial practices, operating practices and business processes with a focus on driving cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and lead complex RFx events to execute major agreements and material purchases while managing and mitigating supply/contractual risk leveraging key functional areas where appropriate (Legal, Insurance, Cyber, etc.).
  • Serve as the procurement subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholder groups to address current/future business needs in addition to promote current best-in-class sourcing strategies and methodologies.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other team members to develop and increase their skills and abilities in the procurement lifecycle process.
  • Foster and develop supplier relationships in addition to monitoring progress and holding suppliers accountable for contractual terms. Ensure compliance with the company's Business Conduct Policy and that approved HSSE standards and safety-first policies are fully incorporated into the procurement process.
  • Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing sourcing market conditions and business drivers to maximize benefits and minimize risk.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or equivalent required.

Experience

  • 7+ years of comparable experience (strategic sourcing, category management and supplier management) in addition to proven experience in conducting Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process and negotiations required.

  • Ability to develop business relationships with peers, senior leadership, business stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.) and collaborative tools.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
  • Certified Supply Management (CSM) preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSD) preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred.

HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
