Location: Fayetteville, NC

Lendlease serves as the owner, developer, design-builder, asset manager, and the exclusive developer for the Department of Defense's only lodging privatization program through a 50-year partnership. In total, the $1.8 billion Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program will result in the development and/or renovation of more than 12,000 hotel rooms across 40 military installations nationwide.

JOB SUMMARY:

In this role you will work as part of the field leadership team overseeing the construction of a ground-up new 6 story, 254 room IHG branded hotel at Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg) that will provide on-base lodging to traveling military personnel. You will direct subcontractors/trades in planning, coordinating, and executing the work safely, on time, and within budget.

Construction is scheduled to complete in approximately 2 years, after which time the next project in the PAL Program will likely be in another part of the country. To support the traveling nature of the PAL Program, when employees are working away from home they receive an allowance for maintaining duplicate housing, along with paid travel home twice a month.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work anticipated to be performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all that may be required.

  • Maintaina robust understanding of Lendlease's safety requirements. Hold trades/subcontractors accountable, and help them performwithin those requirementsthroughpre-task planning, monitoring construction site activities andconditions, taking immediate corrective actions to non-compliant work, andhelp drive Lendlease's strong safety cultureon a daily basis.
  • Provide direction to trade persons and subcontractors by coordinating plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure quality and on-time completion of work.
  • Help ensure work is delivered to quality expectations and rework minimized by understanding the deliverables andconsistently evaluating/testing thequality of work in progress.
  • Help monitor resources (including manpower, materials, and temporary works)daily against the project plan.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining theproject schedule.Clearly communicate the sequence andschedule updatesto subcontractors and vendors, holding them accountable to theiragreements. Ensure work is progressing in compliance with the schedule.
  • Follow the project site logistics plan and help coordinatematerial deliveries and movement of equipment on the site to ensure safe and efficient work.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the project's plans, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and all other project related documents. Notify manager of any anticipated issues or current non-compliance.
  • Help ensure acomplete and accurate set of as-builts is maintained.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate competency in construction site logistics planning; trade/subcontractor management; monitoring worker safety; quality control (QC); construction project scheduling; material delivery coordination; recording as-builts; managing punch list; reading construction plans, blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Experienced building hotel, multifamily, or other sizable ground-up commercial construction projects, knowledgeable of the related building codes.
  • Share in the company's unwavering commitment to being Incident and Injury Free. Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements, and current OSHA 10-hour certification. General understanding of safe rigging and hoisting practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as skilled in working with computer-based scheduling software (Primavera / P6, SureTrak, or Microsoft Projects).
  • Requires strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
