Availability, reliability, and performance are all key differentiators that customers demand and expect in cloud services when choosing a provider.As a Senior Service Engineer on the Azure Storage team, you'll work on varied tasks and projects. The primary focus for this role will be troubleshoot/debug hardware investigations for New Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) in Storage in collaboration with various teams, design new systems/solutions for scaling out & for managing azure storages massive server fleet. We are looking for someone to accelerate the dock to live process of new skus, process improvements, finding out innovative solutions to existing structure. We are part of a massive distributed system so the individual will need expertise in debugging complex multi system issues as well as identifying ways to continuously scale.Azure storage is a fast-paced team that just likes to get stuff done. Responsibilities Drives project which solve complex problems of distributed system and scale out of skusLeads by example and mentors others to Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Applies, extrapolates, and identifies best practices and shares information with other engineers to reliably build code that is based on well-established methods while also applying best practices for new code development. Demonstrates and maintains an up-to-date understanding of both global and local regulations for technologies and system applications to ensure regulations are followed and met.Leads efforts and discussions for the architecture of aspects of products/solutions (e.g., design, cost). Creates proposals for architecture and design documents, and leads testing of hypotheses and proposed solutions.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.Embody our Culture and Values
