Nature and Scope:

The Internal Communications Specialist brings ideas and enthusiasm and will play a key role in helping develop and transform our culture through internal communications and programs that actively engage, inform, and connect employees. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Internal Communications Specialist will support the communications strategy by creating content, managing campaigns and events, and owning execution of programs that excite and engage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate is someone who understands employee experience and engagement, is a self-starter, and has strong writing, editing, and review cycle skills.

The candidate should be able to simplify complex topics and identify the important points of information gathered from multiple sources, turning them into great storytelling for diverse audiences.

Write communications for multiple channels (email, digital, newsletters, intranet, presentations, animations, videos, meetings, and events, etc.) and handle related editing and review processes.

Create and manage internal communications calendar and actively contribute to editorial planning, scheduling, and execution.
Suggest content ideas and the right channel for the right message.
Ensure and deliverables are high quality and accurate.
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of employee events, including maintaining the events calendar.
Assist in keeping company intranet and website current and engaging by writing and publishing new content in real time.
Write social media content to strengthen external brand, increase followers and shares, and support recruiting efforts.
Mine for storytelling and employee recognition opportunities.
Manage employee newsletter content creation, distribution calendar, and review/approval process.
Create and assist with internal communication surveys to assess and address employee engagement.
Maintain metrics reports.
Field inbound communications requests.
Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements and Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, or related field.
Possesses outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.
2-5 years of experience in a communications role.
Experienced with Microsoft Office 365, including Teams.
Digital fluency.
Experience in assisting with virtual and onsite events including invitations, registrations, and post-event surveys.
Experience developing surveys to measure engagement.
Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
An active listener who knows how to read a room.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent project management and organizational skills; a hands-on tactician.
Strong team player.
Flexible and adaptable; able to handle multiple priorities.
Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills

Ability to work overtime as needed.

Expected Salary Range:

$62,300- $ 76,000

The salary range displayed is the minimum and maximum annual salary range of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role. Actual compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, knowledge, skills, and experience.
