Position Description

We are looking for a finance intern to support our Controller this spring and summer, with potential to be brought on full time if performance is high. This is an exciting opportunity to get some entry level experience in both FP&A and accounting. The team this role will be working with manages the finances for PAR's newly acquired software-as-a-service companies. This is a rare opportunity for a student or early professional to get exposure to post acquisition M&A finance and accounting. Being located in Chicago is a plus as the candidate will get to work hands on with the Controller in the Chicago River North Wework office with a beautiful view of the city.

Position Location

Chicago / Hybrid

Pay Band

The hourly range for this position is $22.50-$27.50 per hour commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education, and prior accomplishments.

What We're Looking For

Preferably an accounting or finance student in Greater Chicago area with ability to commute to the river north wework office. Remote applicants are acceptable for the right candidate. Ideally a candidate who understands financial statements, revenue recognition, and solid understanding of the Software as a Service Industry.

What You will Do and Be Responsible For

Some responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Analyze financial and non-financial data
  • Perform accounting journal entries during month-end close
  • Assist the accounting manager with monthly tasks and reporting
  • Aid the controller in making changes to the financial forecast and comparing with results of actuals month over month

We will be short a staff member this summer and will need someone covering off on their responsibilities. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, analytical in nature, ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy, and someone with a friendly hardworking attitude and solid communication skills. The right candidate would have an opportunity to be brought on full time after the internship is over.
