SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting Alliant's mid-market client leave support program - Alliant Leave Advantage (ALA). This includes monitoring and tracking state and local legislation, providing practical analysis of key developments, and providing guidance to employers on implementation and application of various leave law provisions. Develop and support internal training efforts, and support the leave vendor evaluation process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Support the vendor RFP process, including drafting the Request for Proposal (RFP), assisting with vendor coordination and engagement, and analyzing vendor submissions.

* Assist with direct client engagements, including the vendor contracting process, vendor implementation, and other client-specific project management.

* Monitor, track, and prepare written legislative updates on leave law proposals at the federal, state, and municipal levels.

* Provide practical guidance to employers on implementation and application of various leave law provisions.

* Provide educational support to internal account teams and sales and marketing support to Alliant sales professionals on leave laws.

* Draft template policies and/or review existing employer leave law policies for federal, state, and municipal leave law compliance.

* Assist with weekly client legislative update.

* Identify when updates are needed to policies, legal timelines, and other internal documents.

* Update multi-state charts and internal documents based on legislative/regulatory updates and managing upload to various systems.

* Provide general Q&A support as needed for ALA clients.

* Assist with formatting and finalizing audits of client policies and procedures to determine potential compliance gaps.

* Develop and support innovative and effective solutions for Alliant's mid-market Absence, Disability, and Life (ADL) practice by partnering with the sales and account teams, Alliant Leave Advantage team members, the national Alliant Employee Benefits compliance team, and other national Alliant Employee Benefits teams.

* Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information).

* Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Five (5) or more years' experience with either in-house (with a company) leave management, consulting in the absence and disability space, or leave-related experience with an insurance carrier or leave administration vendor

SKILLS

Knowledge of leave-related laws/regulations: FMLA; ADA; FMLA-parallel; PFML; paid sick leave, and pregnancy-related leave

Understanding of regulatory agencies and rulemaking processes that can impact leave administration

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, planning and organizational skills, and investigation and research skills

Detail oriented with excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

Ability to identify problems, and provide thoughtful and practical solutions

Ability to meet deadlines and deliver content in a timely manner while keeping with established processes

Ability to lead or take direction, as appropriate
