What You Will Be Doing:

  • Detect potential failures using the EDPR's corporate condition monitoring tools to analyze operational data.
  • Communicate clear inspection and repair recommendations to the site managers and technicians.
  • Provide remote support to site personnel to ensure recommendations are addressed correctly and within the appropriate time.
  • Assess failure types, remaining useful life, and scope of work required based on inspection pictures.
  • Create quarterly reports summarizing the detections (priority, added value, component, status, etc.)
  • Manage relationships with condition monitoring vendors.
  • Identify opportunities with EDPR's fleet for new condition monitoring implementations and prepare business cases to analyze profitability of such installations.
  • Develop/assist in creation of new monitoring strategies/tools by using readily available data with advanced data science techniques.
  • Work closely with other teams within Performance Management, especially with colleagues which primarily use other monitoring technologies/platforms.
  • Support and lead process improvement, detection quality metrics, coordination calls as needed.

Travel: 20-30%

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or a related field), Masters preferred.
  • Familiarity with planetary gearboxes, generators, solar, and power generation and conversion equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment reliability and lubrication preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience (less experience maybe considered in lieu of an advanced degree).
  • Familiarity with SQL preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Vibration Analyst Cat II certification or experience in applied vibration analysis preferred.
  • Familiarity with Python or R software preferred. Interest in data science and/or ability/interest to develop in that area.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment.

  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds

Qualifications

Education
Masters (preferred)
Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Bachelors of Engineering (required)

Experience
3+ years of relevant technical experience (less experience maybe considered in lieu of an advanced degree) (required)
