Looking for an opportunity to join GTE Financial in a Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager role?

GTE Financial is looking for a strategic, customer-focused, professional individual to join our team asa Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager. The Sr. Business Banking Relationship Manager role is primarily responsible for direct selling activities to business members and prospective business members within the credit union's area of operations. Activities include gathering prospect information, networking, and performing sales calls to targeted businesses to solicit loans, depository products, treasury management solutions, referrals to other GTE business groups, and membership as a community partner on behalf of the credit union. The candidate will also interview potential business members to determine initial creditworthiness and remain an active participant throughout the underwriting process. In addition to procuring new business members for the credit union, the candidate will manage a portfolio of existing business members and be accountable for member satisfaction, cross-selling, and growth.

Business Development:

  • Utilize credit union-provided market data and networking and prospecting information to solicit business services prospects and members for business services products and services.
  • Perform business development sales calls to existing and prospective members to grow business membership and growth in business deposits and loans.
  • Accountable for obtaining individual, departmental, and credit union sales and revenue goals.
  • Understand the nature of a business member or prospect's business operations to provide consultative and needs-based selling.
  • Have complete knowledge of all Business Banking products and services and make applicable recommendations to business members.
  • Recommend and cross-sell products to business members and the business principals.

Service:

  • Engage in community-based activities to promote the credit union and create networking opportunities.
  • Develop and establish strong relationships with Centers of Influence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, and members.
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of financial institution operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision-making and sound judgment in problem-solving.
  • Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, co-workers, management, and outside contacts.

Operations:

  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and credit union credit policy to appropriately underwrite structure and administer loans.
  • Understand SBA's Standard Operating Procedures to administer SBA guaranteed loans.
  • Facilitate the underwriting process of new loan requests and guide Portfolio Specialists through the underwriting process.
  • Present loans recommended to the Business Loan Committee when applicable based on the loan policy.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of business members to ensure member satisfaction and remain abreast of business performance related to credit repayment. Remain the primary contact for trusted business members.
  • Accountable for the compliance and collections within the assigned portfolio of a member business.
  • Advise management of any adverse credit conditions within the portfolio.
  • Knowledge of depository products and treasury management solutions.
  • Understand the credit union's financial offerings in order to make recommendations to members
  • Serve as primary contact for Community Financial Centers on business product opportunities and business member inquiries or service issues.
  • Maintain regular contact with Community Financial Centers to promote Business Banking through the credit union.
  • Ability to change within working responsibilities, internal, market, or regulatory-driven.
  • Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
  • Must demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of college preferred or equivalent industry experience. Business administration or finance fields of study preferred
  • Min 5 years of experience performing credit analysis for business loan approval or completion of industry-recognized commercial credit underwriting training
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Needs-based consultative sales skills
  • Proven sales track record in business development and sales competencies in Business Banking

Position Details:

Location: Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters

Department Hours: Monday- Friday (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) // Saturday (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)

Full-time hours are required, with additional hours necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
