Position Summary:

Supervises the US Distribution Talent Acquisition Specialists and Coordinator(s) to ensure consistent recruiting processes. Balances the needs of hiring managers, compliance requirements, and the candidate experience. Oversees and ensures execution of the talent acquisition process, including needs identification, requisition posting and management, candidate evaluation, screening/interviewing, and offer process. Builds strong relationships with hiring managers to influence, guide and drive the talent acquisition process. Assists with the development and implementation of innovative talent acquisition programs and human resources related training.

Essential Functions:

Team Leadership:

  • Leads team to ensure effective performance and continuous development.

  • Provides leadership and daily direction to the Talent Acquisition Specialists and Coordinators.

  • Mentors, motivates and develops staff and serves as a role model and resource to them.

  • Interviews, hires, trains and retains staff. Conducts performance management of staff, initiating follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Provides recommendations for staff compensation plan.

  • Allocates team resources, including assignments to divisions/functions and short-term support schedules, to meet fluctuating business needs.

Process Management:

  • Provides leadership in process management, hiring manager guidance, interviewing, and selection processes.

  • Oversees the recruiting process across functional areas to ensure resources are used effectively to meet business need.

  • Provides input on system configuration and enhancements and other tools that will improve effectiveness and/or efficiency.

  • Uses reports and audits to ensure that the ATS (applicant tracking system) is being used consistently and complies with company policies and government requirements.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve business support, compliance, and candidate experience and collaborates with appropriate resources to implement solutions.

  • Manages workload using process metrics and KPIs including Time to Fill, Quality of Hire, Manager Feedback, Candidate Feedback, and others as identified to drive process and report progress.

Hiring Manager Guidance:

  • Creates an environment of shared accountability and partnership with hiring managers.

  • Counsels hiring managers on market conditions, competitive intelligence, and positioning.

  • Educates internal customers on the recruiting and selection process through ongoing counsel and periodic training sessions to enhance staff management skills.

Sourcing:

  • Understands sourcing channels and strategies and collaborates with Talent Sourcers, local and Shared Services teams to plan and execute an effective and efficient recruiting process.

  • Works collaboratively with local divisions and Shared Services teams to evaluate supply and demand.

  • Contributes thought leadership to sourcing plans and alternatives at both the national and local level.

  • Provides input to content used in social media campaigns and other sourcing channels.

Evaluation & Selection:

  • Ensures interview guides and evaluation tools are objective, effective, and job related.

  • Balances business needs, compliance requirements, and candidate experience in selection processes.

  • Supports Talent Acquisition Specialists in the review and documentation of selection decisions.

Other Duties and Assignments:

  • Participates on project teams as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Skill in motivating, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

  • Professional demeanor, problem solving, customer service skills

  • Time management, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Understanding of competency models and skilled in interviewing techniques for hiring/selection.

  • Working understanding of compliance requirements related to EEO and OFCCP standards.

  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current trends and industry developments.

  • Ability to present and speak in public.
