Receive, count and check in products from factories and vendors according to proper procedures. Label/identify and stock properly the product received.
Operate forklift to load and unload freight
Pull from stock and ship freight according to proper procedures. Arrange transport of parts via best carrier, prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other required paperwork.
Organize and maintain a neat, orderly warehouse area, along with required packaging materials and supplies.
Assist in expediting overdue shipments.
Assist with customers purchasing parts via the counter.
Be familiar with inventory controls and ordering procedures.
Communicate with customers regarding parts orders as necessary. Follow up on back orders.
Perform minor assembly and disassembly of parts.
Light mechanic work on small components.
Route customer orders from other branches as required.
Assist service department personnel with parts needs.
Enter customer and branch orders into the computer.
Be available for after-hours call outs.
Take necessary steps to learn policies and procedures manual, parts manuals, part numbers, part assemblies and sub-assemblies and their location on the machines.
Perform hot shot and local deliveries as required.
Assist with inner office duties; answering telephone, filing, etc.
Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for assisting the Parts Manager in the performance of his/her job duties, and to assure timely and responsive parts support to customers in the assigned area.
Qualifications
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle stress associated with dealing with deadlines
Excellent customer service skills to include conflict resolution is required
Strong computer skills
Mechanically inclined with knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
Must be a Team Player
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a parts background
Preference given to candidates with a heavy truck parts and service background
Forklift experience
Valid Drivers License is a plus
