Sentara Norfolk General, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team!

SHIFT: Full-Time; M-F 7:30am - 4:30pm; Call Required

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs a wide variety of neurophysiological diagnostic studies in the laboratory, intra-operatively and in the intensive care settings; operates and performs preventative maintenance on complex monitoring instruments; documents all acquired data for interpretation; ensures tests performed are properly ordered, charged and reported; makes independent assessments that may indicate urgent medical interaction.

Travel to other area hospitals is required, as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

License and Certification

  • Basic Life Support

Experience

  • 1 Year of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Tech or;
  • 1 year of experience is waived for new graduates of an accredited EEG Program.

Job Summary

One year of experience is waived for new graduates of an accredited EEG Program.

One year of experience working in an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit preferred.

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Electroencephalographic Technician (EEG) - Certifications - American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
