How you'll make an impact:

The OEM business is crucial to the success of Sirius XM as its highest volume segment. The Analyst is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the OEM business.

What you'll do:

The Financial Analyst - OEM will maintain budget/forecasting models, report/provide commentary on results, maintain business/trending models, analyze business contracts/arrangements, and regularly conduct ad hoc analyses.

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of annual departmental budgets, recurring forecasts, and long-range plans.
    • Maintain detailed schedules for each department of specific types of budgeted expenses and add/remove as necessary per business needs.
    • Meet with business owners to identify objectives/projects and associated costs.
    • Analyze trends to accurately forecast items into the future.
    • Integrate terms of contracts into budgets/forecasts.
    • Support the preparation and distribution of financial results reports to key executives.
    • Continually evaluate risks and opportunities.
  • Meet with business owners to understand and evaluate future business arrangements. Prepare financial analyses to evaluate contractual arrangements and new initiatives/programs and their impact upon the business.
  • Maintain various business models and integrate business arrangements and macro level trends to analyze the path of the business.
  • Support the monthly close process by reviewing actuals and ensuring all expenses are booked properly. Prepare the monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget).
  • Prepare trending analyses and in-depth assessments of costs as requested.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Accounting, Finance or Economics major and 2+ years relevant work experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and have excellent analytical, communication and quantitative skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong financial analysis and quantitative skills; close attention to detail and fact checking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including spelling, grammar, and proofreading
  • Ability to develop relationships across various functions and departments and at all levels
  • Must be resourceful and think creatively when evaluating business arrangements
  • Results oriented; shows initiative and follow through on projects while still working collaboratively with Finance team members and business owners
  • Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person
  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel a must
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge/familiarity of Anaplan, Hyperion/Essbase, Oracle or other accounting software tools is helpful
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $72,500 to $80,600 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
