About the Position:

GDLS is looking to hire Engineering Product Manager to join an agile self-motivated team responsible for the development and implementation of advanced systems for ground combat vehicles. As a member of the Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) Product Management team, this role will be responsible to lead a cross-functional team and coordinate activities to deliver the ARV scope of work and managing execution of project scope to meet all commitments. The Engineering Product Manager is a leadership position responsible for providing organization, direction and guidance to a cross functional team across the GD organization. The selected candidate will be required to manage cross-functional technical scope within schedule, budgetary and technical constraints. Some travel will be required.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead execution of all scope across IPTs.
  • Lead project planning, tracking, and control activities
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding cost, schedule, and quality commitments
  • Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope (eg, BCRs, WADs)
  • Forecast and maintain project manpower demand file
  • Establish & utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performance
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships (interface directly with both internal and external customer)
  • Manage and mitigation execution risks
  • Support internal and external customer reviews
  • Support business pursuits with engineering estimates and proposals
  • Support negotiation of requirements, scope, and deliverables
  • Brief senior leadership routinely on execution status

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to form and lead teams
  • Experience in leading design, development and integration of complex systems
  • Proven leadership skills and competencies
  • Possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projects
  • Ability to assess technical risk and develop corrective actions and/or mitigation plans
  • Must have excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent business acumen and negotiating skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance (non-US Citizens may not be eligible). Must be willing to work in an office, lab, proto-type and test site environments.
