This position is part of Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services global teams. Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company's strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization's financial success.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced PLM administrator and configuration administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing solutions within the Arena (PLM tool) space, ensuring that our technology infrastructure aligns with business objectives and delivers optimal performance. As a PLM administrator, you will be responsible for the system configuration, reporting and data integrity of the PLM systems. Your technical skills and experience in the IT PLM team will drive the success of critical initiatives, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your contribution will contribute to the growth of PLM processes and delivery of business value.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the Arena PLM system, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security.
  • Implementation, Conversion & Testing experience of Arena QMS (Quality Management System) PLM (Product Lifecycle Management
  • Ability to analyze business rules, adapter attributes, and log files.
  • Work closely with business teams to customize Arena PLM features and functionalities based on business requirements.
  • Address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with vendors for technical support when needed.
  • Analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist with the development of training materials and support 'train the trainer' sessions with business SMEs to improve adoption and efficient use of all systems related to the Arena and integrated systems.
  • Address various production issues and be able to work on several initiatives in parallel.
  • Address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with vendors for technical support when needed.
  • Collect and report metrics as required using the PLM tool.
  • Support all Tool Upgrades or maintenance and improvement opportunities.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field.
  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) in manufacturing companies.
  • MUST have experience with PLM Systems and/or processes that encompass Design, development, and production flows.
  • MUST have knowledge of capturing and documenting functional requirements, test scripts and system documentation (including Visio flows, swim-lanes data integration schemas)
  • Be willing to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • SQL or any coding experience is preferable.
  • Functional knowledge of Oracle Supply Chain, Inventory and BOM modules.

Travel Requirements

  • As needed based on projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials
