Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Deputy Director of Enterprise Applications reports to the Director of Enterprise Services. In coordination with the Director of Enterprise Services this position is responsible for design, development implementation, documentation, and support of technical and process-based solutions necessary to accomplish APA's strategic goals. The position ensures all applications maintain regulatory compliance as required and helps lead data management in APA's AMS/CRM platform, Salesforce. This position provides leadership and guidance for the team and fosters a team atmosphere of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Ensures the team is working effectively, adhering to best practices, and providing world class support to the staff and members.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the management and execution of technical requirements for all departments in support of the association's strategic goals.
    • Work closely with the IT project manager and stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and ensure enterprise and SAAS based applications align with them.
    • Provide input for planning and development of the technology and data roadmap.
  • Ensures the team adheres to industry best practices and stays up to date on new developments related to APA platforms.
    • Manage service requests with external vendors to ensure required work is completed in a timely fashion.
    • Collaborates with departments to interconnect enterprise systems to meet organizational goals.
    • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies require change or where new ones need to be developed.
    • Provide continuous feedback to stakeholders, 3rd party vendors, and senior management regarding the priorities and status of work being performed within specified areas of the IT organization.
  • Ensure the solutions in the current production environment remain updated and secure.
    • Provide high level technical troubleshooting of enterprise applications and resolution of issues.
    • Document all work completed for projects and ensure break fix solutions are documented in service desk system.
  • Participate in Association Management Software (Salesforce) upgrades and maintenance.
  • Ensure proper data integrity and maintenance of member data and assist with data standardization, policies, and data governance guidelines.
  • Maintain and grow industry knowledge specific to current APA platforms as well as new technology to provide recommendations for APA data systems/processes.
  • Ensure proper QA, testing, documentation, and training for business users on all IT/data team deliverables.
  • Recommends best practices for data management and integrations across APA.
  • Provide timely metrics to stakeholders.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • Consults with senior leadership for decisions involving major policy or budgetary issues
  • May be responsible for developing and monitoring income and expense budgets for assigned area
  • Identifies complex problems and works to create solutions
  • Problem analyses include reviewing alternative solutions with likely outcomes
  • Independent judgements are made within defined practices of the Association. Management approval is required for solution designs outside of APA's defined practices

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 years of Enterprise Applications/CRM Software Management experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce administration, development, and reporting. Salesforce Administrator certification required.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement IT strategies and operational plans.
  • Ability to prepare, forecast, and manage project level budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Excels at gathering and translating business requirements into highly efficient technical solutions.
  • Strong management and people skills with the ability to hold individuals accountable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across the association.
  • Ability to manage all enterprise applications and SAAS based applications with the support of IT team.
  • Must have strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Extensive experience with various types of data and ensuring it remains accurate and actionable at all times.
  • Experience with software development life cycle, quality initiatives and process improvements in database management systems; information mapping methodologies, system integration and testing.
  • Expert level knowledge of relational database technology, transaction processing procedures, and advanced modeling and design tools.
  • Must keep technical and leadership skillsets current.
