The Center for Personalized Health within the Department of Internal
Medicine is seeking an HS Research Tech 1 to assist with multiomic studies. The
candidate will conduct wet bench activities such as library preparation, metagenomic
sequencing on multiple platforms, single-cell sequencing, and immunological
assays with human specimens. The candidate will be responsible for recording
data, basic data analyses, and interpretation. This employee will work closely
with clinical and administrative staff in a research setting and may interact
with study participants. The HS Research Tech 1 may work with confidential
data, sensitive health information, clinical staff, and study participants.
Experience with phlebotomy preferred but not required.
Duties
and Responsibilities:
1. Basic knowledge and understanding of scientific research methodology
2. Ability to collect and process research data
3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of laboratory facilities and/or equipment
4. Working knowledge of wet bench research techniques
5. Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
6. Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA
7. Ordering supplies and shipping samples

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of directly related student practicum or equivalent experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
