Primary Function
The Child and Family Welfare Specialist serves as an advisor to the Program Manager and Juvenile and Family Management Transportation and Compliance Unit (JFMTCU) regarding unaccompanied children (UC) and family welfare. This position is responsible for providing substantive review of training, procedures, policies, and other areas as needed.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Responsibilities
Advise the Program Manager and JFTCU on UC and family unit welfare matters.
Conducts substantive reviews of staff training, procedures, polices and other areas as needed.
Ensures contractual compliance with ICE/ERO policies and procedures.
Ensures safeguarding of sensitive information.
Ensures open communication, dissemination of information, review significant activities, and address any issues or concerns.
Conducts ongoing quality assurance to ensure compliance with all ICE/ERO policies and procedures, including identifying areas in need of improvement.
Enforce all workplace policies and procedures.
Supports Program Manager with identifying staffing and resource requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited university (a bachelor's degree with ten years of relevant experience can be substituted);
Have at least ten years or more of documented experience in a field related to child/family welfare/social work, or similar occupational area.
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in English; able to receive and understand detailed information through oral and written communication.
Must be proficient with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office suite.
Possess a valid and current driver's license with a safe driving record.
Clean criminal background check, a favorable credit check, and no prior drug use
Psychological, honesty/integrity validation pre-employment screening and annual re-screening.
Must be able to work full time hours, weekends, and holidays
Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual
ORR or ICE experience
CPR/First Aid certification
Experience working with children and families
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
