Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Professional - Environmental Engineer (P.E.) to be based in one of our Blue Bell PA, Pennington NJ or Lyndhurst NJ offices. This position is well-suited for a talented, highly experienced individual who is interested in being a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong experience in managing site investigation & remediation projects for the industrial sectors, e.g. chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, oil & gas, energy, utilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. Some of the key responsibilities may include:

    Managing challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management;
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Reviewing and managing written document production;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil or chemical engineering, or a related field of study. (required)
  • Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience in the US marketplace; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Strong experience managing contaminated land site investigation & remediation projects, with a particular emphasis on the private sector e.g. oil & gas, chemicals, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, etc. (required)
  • Detailed understanding NJDEP and USEPA regulations. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients, and leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
