Summary:

The Customer Experience mission is to drive customer obsession across our teams and programs to deliver outstanding customer experiences, engagement, loyalty, retention, and profitability. The Customer Journey & Personalization team specifically works to elevate and amplify optimized customer journeys, set enterprise personalization strategy, and enable powerful customer-led programs.

This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Customer Journey and Experience and will further Petco's vision and multi-year roadmap that delivers new and optimized Personalization and Customer Experience strategies. The Sr. UX/CX Designer will foster innovative ideas and strategies, working in a fast-paced environment with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. This critical role will cooperate with Research, Business, Product, and Engineering in developing a comprehensive customer lifecycle vision and strategy that drives customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty across Petco's businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer problems and design measurable solutions that impact our customers and business.

  • Develop and conceptualize customer journeys across channels (including but not limited to mobile, web, and in-store), identifying opportunities and pain points to create optimal experiences.

  • Drive design solutions based on user needs, business goals, and technical constraints for each project.

  • Utilize design frameworks such as Design Thinking and apply Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking approaches to guide the discovery and production of low-fidelity and high-fidelity deliverables.

  • Coordinate with product managers, engineers, and functional business stakeholders to define initiatives and build consensus around design requirements for new or enhanced experiences.

  • Meet and deliver on product and customer experience roadmap timelines while working in an Agile environment that follows Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

  • Deliver end-to-end UX/UI design process and deliverables from user flows through wireframes/prototypes to consumer-facing page layouts/designs and interaction behaviors.

  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface and interaction specifications.

  • Present and defend design recommendations to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval.

  • Synthesize customer and industry research to improve customer experiences and identify best practices.

  • Present persuasively to clearly articulate design rationale, using data to support decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Design related degree or equivalent experience as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • 5-8 Years of UX/UI, product design or equivalent experience.

  • Proficient in visual and interaction design, regularly creating prototypes to test and iterate complex interactions and experiences.

  • Well-rounded UX and interaction design skills using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD/CC InVision

  • Proven experience and knowledge on implementation and facilitation of the overall design process, using a variety of methodologies like: Process Mapping, User Journey Mapping, User Story Mapping, Wireframing, UI prototyping, User Testing, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience with data driven decision making and using data to drive design decisions.

  • Experience collaborating with business & development teams through product lifecycle.

  • Experience planning and conducting user research and user testing sessions including moderator guides to generate artifacts from synthesis.

  • Experiences designing omnichannel customer experiences.

  • Familiarity with responsive design and front-end development.

  • An excellent portfolio showcasing user experience, information architecture design, visual design and UI work with a strong design sensibility and excellent, user-centric storytelling.

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

$93,000.00 - $139,500.00
