Job Description

Primary Purpose
Delivers a wide-range solution related to the supply chain inventory management processes and engages key shared services stakeholders to drive and improve service levels.

Leads and manages the Supply Chain Management Inventory and Warehouse Management team in support of Sempra Infrastructure organization. Manages planning, control, storage and distribution of materials and products. Focuses on developing inventory management strategies to establish strategic solutions to drive commercial value and consistently meet industry KPI's.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively supports SI HSSE culture through implementation and alignment to personal and process safety design. Develops and manages implement strategy and process framework for a robust inventory and logistics management organization to support the wide range of projects and operations. Ensures compliance with company requirements that apply to operations and inventory control within the warehouse. Tackles any problems involving lack of inventory visibility, process, waste, defects, and space utilization. Establishes and implements a continuous improvement program.
  • Builds a inventory and logistics management team; manages team activities, execution, performance and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to team members to develop and increase their skills and abilities in the inventory management process.
  • Conducts periodic reviews activities performed by team members to ensure the team is meeting business requirements and realizing benefits to the organization by making data-driven decisions.
  • Supports the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of broad Supply Chain and specifically Inventory Management policies, practices, procedures, and responsibilities.
  • Manages the team's metrics, performance criteria, KPIs, dashboards and reporting.
  • Manages effective relationship, both internally and externally for various aspects of inventory and logistics strategies.
  • Establishes effective strategic relationships and communication with key shared services stakeholders, as well as understanding, anticipating, and responding to their business needs, objectives, and challenges.
  • Manages the relationships with various business entities, assets, projects and functions to mitigate uncertainties by planning and forecasting future needs.
  • Provides guidance to various stakeholders to increase their understanding of inventory management and logistics practices.
  • Independently leads project management and high-performance culture throughout the performance of work in the established focus areas. Approaches all aspects with a project management focus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or other related field required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Inventory or Warehouse Management required.
  • 3 years of leadership experience required.
  • Experience maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations preferred.
  • Energy industry experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Enhanced knowledge of leading procurement practices, inventory management, vendor negotiations and demonstrated ability to establish best practices, guidelines, and processes in support of implementation across organization(s). Understands workflows and processes throughout the organization, including the people involved in the processes, their sequencing and outputs of the processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills.
  • Advanced ability to influence and motivate a broad range of stakeholders within a center-lead structure. Expertise in setting and managing internal and external stakeholder expectations. Brokers consensus among stakeholders with conflicting needs.
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a team. Ability to empathize and knowledge of personality types.
  • Talented "commercial thinker" with the ability to challenge current thinking and present innovative solutions that promote the company's interests. Adapts to new circumstances (e.g., changes in the business or macroeconomic environment).
  • Ability to influence, work with, and form strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders to create optimal strategic procurement approaches, contracts and solutions. Proactively alerts team and/or manager when faced with unexpected roadblocks.
  • Excellent financial, quantitative, and analytical skills. Understands the organization's sources of revenue and/or cost categories. Understands core financial accounting concepts and metrics. Understands the impact of a decision on the business' financial statements and financial wellbeing in the long term.
  • Ability to support defining program requirements identifying and navigating data and metrics to determine improvements. Applies data visualization techniques to communicate data through graphical representations and narrative based actionable findings.
  • Distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills to support the role. Adopts new technologies quickly to become more efficient.
  • Ability to manage uncertainty and respond to rapidly changing market dynamics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified in Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred.
  • Certified in planning and inventory management (CPIM) preferred.

HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
