The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology. Summer teaching associated with this position is may be available but not guaranteed. The Department offers BS, MS, AuD, and PhD degrees ().
Job Responsibilities
The clinical faculty will primarily be responsible for teaching graduate clinical practicum courses. The teaching responsibilities entail providing on-campus clinical instruction, clinical education at external sites, summer treatment camps, service learning, and other student activities outside the classroom. Additionally, the faculty member is expected to perform service along with instructional responsibilities. While the focus of the position is teaching graduate clinical courses, opportunities for teaching graduate and undergraduate academic courses may be available.
For clinical faculty, excellence may be demonstrated through impactful outreach activities to providers and consumers of clinical services. Relevant indicators for clinical faculty include but are not limited to, the creation of new student opportunities within the community; holding office in professional organizations; development of inter-professional education and practice activities; and offering presentations/workshops for providers, clients, and other stakeholders.
This position is for a candidate who is a clinician-scientist with clinical experience in a pediatric speech-language pathology setting.
