The Yeshiva Special Education Teacher plays a critical role in the Knapp School by prioritizing each student's development and growth through strong, supportive relationships and highly individualized academic and social emotional activities each day. This person will:

• Develop and implement individualized curriculum and therapeutic programming in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
• Track and record academic and behavior data to determine student progress.
• Effectively manage and intervene in disruptive student behavior, both verbal and physical; including use of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) prescribed methods to de-escalate critical situations.

Requirements:

• Must poses an Illinois Professional Educator License and Special Education endorsement (LBS1)
• Must be able to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Ukeru training and maintain the required credentials.
