Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Manage environmental projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation;
  • Oversee field investigations, remediation activities, and monitoring efforts on project sites;
  • Analyze environmental data using specialized software and tools to assess contamination levels, migration patterns, and potential risks.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for clients and regulatory agencies as well as other written documents such as proposals, work plans, and QA/QC plans;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, hydrologists, engineers, and regulatory experts, to develop holistic solutions;
  • Clearly communicate complex technical information in a comprehensible manner for various audiences;
  • Mentoring and training of junior staff in the field and office
  • Interact with clients to understand their goals, concerns, and expectations;
  • Assist in the development of proposals and other business development activities such as presentations and conference attendance; and
  • Stay updated on emerging environmental technologies and trends to propose innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (preferred)
  • Hold professional licensure (i.e., P.E.) or has the ability to obtain professional licensure within one year.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience in field site investigation and characterization techniques, including sediment, soil, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight.
  • An outstanding track record for maintaining positive client relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Experience in the presentation of technical or regulatory information to project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues, propose effective solutions, and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Data analysis/visualization of site investigation data including the preparation of tables, maps, and figures using both industry-standard and cutting-edge applications;
  • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with geologists, hydrologists, regulatory experts, and other professionals
  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment.
  • Experience in managing complex environmental projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, guidelines, and standards in the Midwest.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, and/or EVS.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
