Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work with Onsite for our client in Lexington, KY. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The Upholsterer repairs and rebuilds upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods to remove covering, webbing, and padding from the seat, arms, back, and sides of the workpiece, using tack puller, chisel, and mallet to remove defective springs by cutting cords or wires that hold them in place.
  • Replaces webbing and springs or reties springs, measures and cuts new covering material, installs material on inside of arms, back, seat, and over outside back and arms of the wooden frame.
  • The Upholstery tacks or sews ornamental trim, such as braid and buttons, to cover and frame, may operate the sewing machine to seam cushions and join various sections of coating materials.
  • May repair wooden frames of workpieces, repair seats from multiple types of vehicles, and improve a variety of items requiring special shaping, cushioning, and covering, including aircraft insulation and soundproofing panels.
  • Repair special devices and assemblies and other items such as carpets, inflatable shelters, and tents made of canvas and other fabrics.

  • Pay Rate: $29.00/hr
  • Hours: 5/40 Hrs/WK
  • Length: Temp (6 Months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in repairing and rebuilding upholstered furniture, using hand tools, fabrics, and upholstery methods to remove covering, webbing, and padding from the seat.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • Active Secret DoD Clearance
