Summary:

The U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory is looking for a Computer Specialist - Software Support Analyst III.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide technical expertise during development, verification, deployment and maintenance of information systems, applications, and database management systems.
• Develop and integrate data-driven software applications, web-based applications, and user interfaces for a relational database to include design, coding, and testing.
• Ensure implementation of industry and military best practices in website and online interfaces and applications, including security and other protocols.
• Develop and update documentation required, such as standard operating procedures, data dictionaries, etc., to operate and maintain each interface.
• Evaluate and recommend software and equipment to optimize efficiency of applications.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

• Oral and written communication
• Demonstrate experience of system architecture, system maintenance, system administration, .NET, Visual Basic (and its variations), Visual Studio, Security Principals, Object-Oriented Design, and/or Microsoft products for application/interface/database.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems
• Thorough understanding of networking technologies and protocols
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5- 7 years of related experience
• Certification necessary to perform services in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M and AR 25-2
• Obtaining and maintaining as a minimum, Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) App Builder certification.
• Experience with system design, program generation, software module, testing/validation and configuration management using computer-based tools.
• Experience with maintenance of existing locally developed client/server applications using Visual Studio
• Experience with development of custom applications as requested by researchers using Visual Studio
• Experience with SQL database development, management, and
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Currently possess an active Secret Security clearance

The salary range for the position is $78,811.00 - $81,214.00 annually.
