Summary:

The U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) Enroute Care Group is looking for a Research Specialist IV to perform laboratory procedures and other scientific and administrative tasks in support of aeromedical research and testing.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Utilize instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, including but not limited to relevant standard operating procedures and/or other written guidelines provided.
  • Maintain schedule/calendars, emailing correspondence, purchasing and inventories, and performing detailed electronic web searching for equipment, materials, and literature.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize completion, provide ad hoc status reports as requested, independently and competently handle unexpected issues that may require immediate action to ensure accomplishment of research goals.
  • Maintain the division general schedules/calendars, to include planned research study execution, travel schedules, training, research submission deadlines, equipment calibration, internal research planning meetings, etc. as requested by staff.
  • Maintain equipment calibration process to include preparing equipment, work order processing, and shipping receiving items.
  • Assist with inventory of physical assets and update tracking database for physical and electronic assets and items, as well as maintain checkout logs.
  • Review and revise technical documents for research protocols, test plans, datasheets, and test reports.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and database management.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 4 -5 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in an educational or scientific setting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Currently possess an active Secret Security clearance.
