Position Summary:

Airbus U.S. is looking for a candidate who can act as our resident SAP architect and a catalyst of digital transformation to increase business agility and enable the strategy of the company. The person in this position interacts with business stakeholders in order to:

  • Report on-going activities around SAP landscape,
  • Collect and propose solutions to issues or change request,
  • Ensure end to end processes coherency, and
  • Pro-actively propose enhancements in order to enhance business processes.
  • Responsible for facilitating the purchase, implementation, and life-cycle maintenance of all SAP modules. Also responsible for business continuity planning and execution.

Position Responsibilities:

Architecture

  • The Sr SAP Technical and Functional architect administers and maintains the SAP Company landscape and coordinate internal IT activities linked to this landscape. This includes highly technical platform migrations:
    • The entire SAP system will be migrated from the current commercial cloud to the Airbus U.S. AWS GovCloud (US) environment.
    • The current SAP ERP 6.0 will be replaced by SAP S4/HANA which completely revolutionizes the way data are stored and processed.
  • Acts as the primary point of communication for implementation projects and on-going business requirements analysis between Information Technology organization (IT) and operating, business and functional units. As appropriate, provides escalated on-site support. May coordinate and direct the activities of sub-contractors and staff (key users) in cross-organizational and cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for ABAP development based on functional specifications.
  • Supports definition and deployment of IT Security Policy in accordance with applicable regulation and business requirements. Ensures the company IT Policies and Security protocols are embedded within the full SAP landscape.
  • Responsible for maintenance of SAP architecture documentation (technical and functional).

System Administration

  • Performs local administration and operations functions as appropriate in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring SAP landscape to ensure the system is in good health.
  • Provides new staff with account setup and orientation
  • Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence. Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Enterprise Helpdesk and in accordance with established SLAs.
  • Provides consulting/training/education services such as data management and staff training/orientation for standard SAP processes.

Business Continuity

  • In cooperation with IT, local operations staff and key users, provides disaster recovery/business continuity planning to offices and staff in multiple operating, business and functional units.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Professional certifications as appropriate.

Experience

  • Extensive technical experience with SAP ERP and/or SAP HANA and associated modules.
  • Knowledge of current trends in SAP (HANA, ECC, SAP PP, SAP MM, MII, SAP BW).
  • ABAP Proficiency.
  • Extensive consulting and/or project management experience.
  • Advanced skills with standard software applications, including MS Office, Windows. May require database management skills with ability to produce reports. Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.
  • Familiarity with support and troubleshooting of personal computers.
  • Training ability/experience a plus.

Mobility

  • US citizenship is required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, current US passport required.
  • Domestic or international travel may be required up to 20% of the time.

Physical Capability

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, electronic equipment and/or supplies up to 25lbs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, electronic equipment and/or supplies up to 25lbs.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for long periods of time.
