We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Team Lead - Cybersecurity Professional to join our organization in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of cybersecurity professionals and ensuring the effective implementation of cybersecurity measures, policies, and procedures. You will play a critical role in protecting our client's information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of cybersecurity professionals.
    • Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor the progress and performance of team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
    • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
  • DoD Cybersecurity Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, standards, and frameworks, such as Risk Management Framework (RMF).
    • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and controls to meet DoD requirements.
    • Assist in the creation, management, tracking, and reporting of Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to address identified vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity measures align with organizational goals and mission requirements.
  • DoD Cybersecurity Tools and Systems:
    • Possess expertise in utilizing and managing DoD-required cybersecurity tools and systems, including:
    • Host-Based Security System (HBSS) for endpoint security and threat detection.
    • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability scanning and configuration management.
    • Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for hardening and securing systems.
    • Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for managing RMF processes and documentation.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential weaknesses and risks in the organization's systems.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring appropriate safeguards and controls are in place.
    • Collaborate with system owners and stakeholders to address identified risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response and Threat Management:
    • Lead incident response efforts in the event of a cybersecurity incident or breach.
    • Develop and execute incident response plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate emerging risks.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on DoD environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and standards, including RMF.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as required by the DoD.
  • Strong understanding of DoD-required cybersecurity tools and systems, such as HBSS, ACAS, STIGs, and eMASS.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of cybersecurity professionals.
  • DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certifications for IAT Level III (CISSP, CASP+)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
