The Hardware Engineer serves as the product technical lead for the project team. They will evaluate and test vendor offerings, develop test reports and other deliverables, make recommendations to enhance the technical solution set(s), resolve technical issues and other associated tasks as core functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical requirements and identify products and solution sets that meet those requirements.
  • Evaluate existing and new products (hardware, software, and networking) from industry and vendor partners against contract requirements.
  • Evaluate, provide direction to, and evolve the deployed identity management solutions and technologies.
  • Lead meetings with vendors to evaluate/investigate new components and technologies
  • Execute and refine test methodologies and plans.
  • Work with software developers to facilitate and integrate new products and technologies to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and deliver test reports, ECPs (Engineering Change Proposals) and other custom technical documentation as required.
  • Communicate information on, develop and deliver training to teams and end users on technical components, capabilities, and solutions.
  • Support the delivery and achievement of metrics and regular reports to the client
  • Assist in the update and maintenance of imaging baselines.
  • Conduct assessments of information systems security requirements, evaluate current security posture, and make recommendations for remediation.
  • Assist in the management, resolution, and ongoing oversight of vulnerability scanning, patching and configuration management of systems by actively engaging on Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs).
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 2+ years relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • Security+ certification or the ability to obtain one.
  • An active DoD Top Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
  • Experience in security operations/incident response concepts and implementation and vulnerability management.
  • Strong, detailed written and verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels is required.
  • A professional attitude regarding attention to detail and customer service and excellent organizational skills is required.
  • Proven ability to present complex, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience and familiarity with the following technologies - notebooks/tablets/desktops/server platforms, biometrics devices, 802.11 architectures/components/configuration, Identity management and Access control architectures and systems, Windows 10/11 system administration, Android platforms

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with DOD ID card programs, processes, and technologies (CAC, PIV, HSPD-12).
  • Imaging software tools and processes.
