Tier II Network Techneeded for a contract to hire opportunity with SOC's client to work in Santa Clara, CA. Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph Clearance is required!
Responsibilities
The Tier 2 network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
Respond to and resolve incident tickets
Draft and implement standard network change requests
Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinate and install new equipment)
Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory
Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Port Security, and Thin Configurations)
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph Clearance is required!
Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals
Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts
Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes
Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)
Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS)
Familiarity (doesn't need to be a SME) with Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Language Server Protocol (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence
Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products
Preferred Qualifications In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $125.000 - $ 145.000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
