Job Summary:

The SAP Implementation Project Manager will own and drive the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA across the organization, including the Laboratory Services, Drug Product Manufacturing, and Bioservices business units. You will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders, executive leadership, implementation partners, and internal teams. This leader will leverage excellent communication skills and decisive leadership to keep the complex project on track.

The ideal candidate has led multiple full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC implementations from end-to-end, including at comparable multi-site organizations. This is an opportunity to leverage your profound expertise in SAP modules, integration points, data migration, and business processes - as well as mastery of SAP Activate methodology - to drive a successful implementation.

On-Site Expectations:

  • 100% on-site position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the overall project plan including detailed workstreams for activities such as requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, data migration, integrations, training, change management, and deployment.
  • Create a detailed schedule with tasks, durations, milestones, resources, and critical path.
  • Steadfastly drive the project to meet all timeline milestones and go-live dates by adeptly controlling scope and preventing scope creep through disciplined change management.
  • Manage the program budget, analyze spending and forecasts, and provide regular budget versus actual reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Provide direction, feedback, and guidance to implementation partner project teams on a daily/weekly basis to drive progress. Delegate appropriately while maintaining solid working relationships.
  • Facilitate workshops to gather business requirements across functions like finance, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and more. Translate technical details effectively.
  • Mediate discussions to obtain alignment and sign-off on configurations from business process owners. Drive consensus through flexibility and collaboration
  • Develop and execute testing plans including integration, user acceptance, performance, and regression testing. Troubleshoot issues creatively.
  • Oversee data migration activities, validating data extracts and transformations from legacy systems.
  • Drive change management and communications to educate staff and promote user adoption. Motivate teams positively through transformation.
  • Monitor project status, risks and issues, dependencies, and critical paths on a consistent basis. Course-correct quickly when needed.
  • Present reports on project progress, budgets, milestones, and risks to the Steering Committee each month. Tailor communications to various audiences
  • Proactively identify and resolve project obstacles and conflicts in a timely manner. Solve problems with solutions focus.
  • Coordinate go-live readiness assessments and cutover activities to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Manage stabilization support post go-live to resolve any defects or issues. Celebrate wins with the project team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years as an ERP implementation project management experience, with at least 3 end-to-end SAP S/4HANA projects completed from blueprinting through go live.
  • At least 2 SAP Activate methodology implementations in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with key S/4HANA lines-of-business: Finance, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Integration.
  • Hands-on experience configuring SAP S/4HANA solutions, with Fiori interface expertise.
  • Data migration experience from legacy systems into S/4HANA using tools like SAP Data Services.
  • Understanding of integration points with SAP and non-SAP systems leveraging PI/PO/APO/BODS.
  • Expertise in project planning and status reporting for large, global SAP rollouts.
  • Excellence managing multi-vendor implementation teams including SI partners.
  • At least 1 success story managing an SAP transformation in complex pharmaceutical manufacturing or CDMO.
  • PMP certification required plus S/4HANA certifications preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mastery translating business processes into technical configurations.
  • Proven large-scale organizational change management leadership.
  • Flawless attention to detail, budget, scope, schedule, and risk.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and executive reporting abilities.

Travel Expectations:

The role requires willingness and availability for up to 25% travel to company locations across the country during critical phases of the implementation project. Travel needs may vary week to week, with occasional trips lasting 1-2 weeks at a time as necessary to manage and oversee different workstreams.
