Maine Medical Partners, Orthopedics, Joint Replacement is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join their dynamic, supportive team!
This unique position is a mix of clinical and administrative duties (depending on the day)..which will include the following:
- Chart abstraction
- Rooming Patients
- Taking vital signs
- Medication Reconciliation
- Screenings (w/a focus on fall & safety)
- Administrative duties: sort/scan incoming faxes; manage incoming calls/My Chart messages; manage consent forms and assit with phones/check-out when needed.

This is a full-time (40 hours), Mon - Friday day-shift position. There is flexibility within the daily hours.

The Medical Assistant I is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant I functions under the license of a provider when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).

License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire required. An NH Med Tech License is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.

Position Summary - Clinical Team Assistant
This position is responsible for performing daily patient service functions to support the clinical team in the delivery of patient care.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) - Clinical Team Assistant

- Education: Graduate of an accredited vocational program, community college or university in the field of health sciences. Program curriculum must include patient facing experience.
- License/Certifications: Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment.

- Working knowledge of continuous process improvement.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
