Overview

Senior Estimator(s) perform day-to-day functions for the firm's estimating activities including, but not limited to, serving as the estimating lead on various projects. Responsibilities includes pre-bid attendance as needed, bid management, vendor databases, cost databases, estimating software, and estimating best practices. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in construction estimating. The candidate should possess an understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings (P&ID, PFD, etc.) and project specifications. The candidate should be able to understand risk assessment analysis and have proven estimating experience in multiple markets and geographic locations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete quantity take-offs, ensuring all items incorporated in the assigned scopes and priced
  • Interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete and competitive estimates, general conditions, and bid
  • Informs preconstruction staff of project requirements and owner directives, and develops a plan to meet stated goals.
  • Manages multiple projects
  • Value Engineer solutions to meet client's budgetary
  • Participates in identifying qualified subcontractors, and establishing and maintaining bid solicitation lists.
  • Attends all preconstruction meetings with the design team and client on behalf of
  • Fills in design gaps with assumptions that align with the design intent of the
  • Responsible for tracking cost at various stages of the projects lifecycle.
  • Prepares project clarifications and bid assumptions for submission to Owner.
  • Investigates local market conditions and their effect on cost and
  • Coordination with other company executives to help effectuate the firm's strategic planning effort.
  • Develop department protocol for best estimating practices.
  • Must have excellent planning, organizational and coordinating skills.
  • Attend technical and professional meetings and seminars as necessary.
  • Establish timelines and estimating goals for effective and timely submittals.
  • Work to achieve the department objectives and ensure career path
  • Represent company vision when presenting to potential clients, detailing Cash Construction capabilities in connection with business development
  • Collaborate closely with Cash Construction on all related metal building pricing efforts.
  • Ensure quality of services meets project requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration on estimates between all disciplines and parties.
  • Provide risk and cost comparison analysis on estimates.
    LEED AP
  • Scheduling Programs(Microsoft Projects preferred)

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent progressive work experience with 7 + years of estimating on construction projects or
  • 10+ years of experience in lieu of education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Heavy Civil construction. Specifically, earthwork, underground water, underground wastewater, underground drainage and street/highway construction.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with self-perform work.
  • Sound organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Experience with Agtek earthwork take-off software is preferred.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software is preferred.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
