We are seeking a highly skilled Aruba Networking Administrator to join our team in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As an Aruba Networking Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and security of our Aruba networking infrastructure, including switches, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), and Controllers. Your role will encompass network management, patching, and expertise in security tools such as HBSS (Host-Based Security System), ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution), and EMASS (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service). This position requires in-depth knowledge of various network topographies, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate with customers to resolve network-related outages effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aruba Network Administration: Administer and maintain Aruba networking infrastructure, including switches, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), and Controllers. Configure and optimize Aruba network devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Network Management: Implement network management practices to monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of Aruba networks. Utilize Aruba Central or similar tools to streamline network administration tasks.
  • Patching and Security Compliance: Develop and implement patch management processes for Aruba devices in compliance with DoD guidelines. Utilize HBSS, ACAS, and eMASS to monitor, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in Aruba networking infrastructure.
  • Network Topographies: Demonstrate expertise in various network topologies, including familiarity with complex network architectures and configurations.
  • Customer Interaction: Work closely with customers to understand their network-related issues and provide expert guidance on resolution. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Respond to network incidents and troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and security issues. Conduct root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective actions. Coordinate with vendors and support teams for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution. Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues within Aruba networks, ensuring rapid remediation. Collaborate with customers to troubleshoot outages and provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Network Monitoring and Optimization: Implement network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network performance issues. Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize network configurations for improved efficiency. Implement Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms to prioritize critical traffic.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance metrics. Ensure compliance with change management processes.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security teams, system administrators, and help desk support, to address network-related issues and requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues.
Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferred 4+ years of networking experience
  • DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certifications for IAT Level III (CISSP, CASP+)
  • Relevant OEM certification such as Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP)
  • Proven experience in the administration of Aruba networking devices in a DoD environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aruba networking technologies, including switches, WAPs, and Controllers.
  • Experience with network topologies, including the ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network architectures.
  • Strong understanding of patch management processes and vulnerability remediation in accordance with DoD guidelines.
  • Proficiency with security tools such as HBSS (Host-Based Security System), ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution), and eMASS (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service).
  • Experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Aruba Switches, Wireless Access Points (WAPs) and Controllers.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, best practices, and compliance requirements in a DoD environment.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
