The City of Kirkland is hiring for the Peter Kirk Pool and Kirkland's three swimming beaches. We are looking for lifeguards, swim instructors and other aquatics positions for the upcoming 2023 Summer Season. Please see details on the positions below.
Lifeguard (15+ years)
Pay Rate: $19.10 - $22.81
We are looking for Lifeguards for the Peter Kirk Pool and for Houghton, Waverly, and Juanita Beaches. First year Lifeguards will only be able to work at the pool, second year lifeguards are able to work at our three swimming beaches. A lifeguard certification is required for this position. We have limited availability to certify staff. Help give back to your community and lifeguard with us this summer!
Swim Instructor (16+ years)
Pay Rate: $19.10 - $22.81
We offer swim lessons in the morning and evening Monday - Thursday. Becoming a swim instructor is a great first time job. You will get on the job paid training and obtain a valuable skill. Help raise water safety awareness in your community and learn how to be a Swim Instructor at the Peter Kirk Pool!
Head Swim Team Coach (18+ years)
Pay Rate: $22.47 - $26.84
The Peter Kirk Pool offers a recreational swim team every season. We are looking for a Head Coach to oversee practices, swim meets, and other swim team related duties. Head Coaches are supported by Assistant Coaches and other pool staff. Practices are Monday - Thursday in the early morning.
Assistant Swim Team Coach (16+ years)
Pay Rate: $20.22 - $24.13
The Peter Kirk Pool offers a recreational swim team every season. Assistant Coaches assist the Head Coach with customer service, planning and directing daily practice, organization of season competition and assistance with administrative duties as assigned. Practices are Monday - Thursday in the early morning.

Hours of Work
Employee works a flexible schedule which includes early morning, daytime, evening hours, and weekends June-September. Work schedule and needs may fluctuate during periods of low attendance and poor weather days.
Special Note
