About the Position

Dexis seeks an experienced Senior Statistician to propose for a Department of Labor (DOL) opportunity. The Blanket Purchase Agreement will provide for the development, collection, analysis, and dissemination of research and evaluation studies determined to be of interest by the DOL.

This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for execution of data analyses and assess the compatibility of existing and proposed statistical methods and analytical tools with project/study design and objectives.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to resolve statistical/analytical issues.
  • Provide statistical analysis and scientific writing to develop abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, etc.
  • Provide clear, organized, and detailed verbal and written summaries and descriptions of statistical/analysis methods and results.
  • Assess statistical processes and procedures based on the characteristics and limitations of DOL program evaluation data.
  • Collaborate with designated staff (e.g. analysts, researchers) to describe the DOL program evaluation findings.
  • Develop and review protocols, development of sampling plans, apply appropriate statistical methods to the analysis of program and project data, andimplement statistical software applications.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practices related to data collection, data management, and data analysis standards, protocols, and procedures.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or computer science and have produced relevant, technical research products demonstrating applied experience, including at least one scholarly peer-reviewed paper.
  • Strong technical knowledge of privacy and disclosure avoidance issues and at least five years of experience in applied disclosure avoidance work on large, confidential data sets.
  • Expert level knowledge of federal privacy rules and regulations and have the ability to identify and recommend solutions that minimize the disclosure risks of research proposals and survey designs while maximizing the output DOL can publish.
  • Able to communicate highly technical information in clear, intuitively appealing ways to legal experts, and other non-technical professionals.
  • Able to effectively communicate with internal and external researchers while guiding them safely and patiently through the disclosure review process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A PhD in mathematics, statistics, or computer science
