What we do and how we do it:

The Building Services department performs janitorial services required to maintain the facilities complex and provides various support activities for the corporation. These responsibilities encompass cleaning activities, trash, and recycle removal, pest infestation removal, sanitation control, and snow removal. Employees receive direction from Section Manager or Group Leader and do not supervise any other employees.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

The Building Specialist - Custodian position is located at Hallmark Headquarters. The job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Strip and wax floors, clean and supply restrooms and lounge areas using mild to strong chemicals; stock all restrooms and lounge areas with tissue, paper towels, soap, feminine products, etc.; clean walls, ceilings, ducts, vents, and light fixtures from ladders or scaffolding.

Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum and/or shampoo hallways, stairs, offices, production areas, storage spaces, compactor cleaning, etc.; floor maintenance activities to include dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, applying dressing and seals as dictated by the particular flooring material and frequency rate; uses mechanical cleaning equipment to include battery-operated/electric floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, large and small vacuum cleaners, buffers and burnishers; must maintain the general operational upkeep of all equipment.

Empty trash containers and recyclable containers (green spots); empty waste containers, 55 gallon drums, push 1 to 2 cubic yard trash trucks and operate trash compactors, to include both trash and recycle activity that will involve office paper, confidential shred, corrugate, film, aerosol cans, and shop towels.

Clean office modules for moves, resets, and conference room tables, chairs, marker boards, and pictures

Remove snow with hand shovels and spread calcium chloride and sand to icy areas; heavy equipment includes tractor with blade and bucket and truck mounted spreader; a valid driver's license is required to operate this equipment

Other custodial duties as assigned.

This is a 1st shift position, and the work hours will be 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday to Friday.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1 year of work experience in the custodial field
  • Ability to constantly stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds constantly, up to 50 pounds frequently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
