Job Description

Primary Purpose

Support the preparation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements for use by management, partners, lenders, and outside agencies. Perform various reporting tasks for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information including financial analysis and other metrics required by internal or external management and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares quarterly unaudited and annual financial statements for Sempra Infrastructure Partners for use by management, partners, lenders, and outside agencies, including workpapers and support. Collaborates with other professionals across various departments such as Tax, Accounting Research and Accounting.
  • Prepares and delivers quarterly, and annual financial information internally to Sempra corporate in support of 10K/10Q and internal reporting.
  • Implements Sempra Infrastructure Partners financial reporting strategy, standards, processes, and procedures for accounting and systems in support of an evolving organization.
  • Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and relevant processes for a growing integrated entity.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information, including analysis and reporting of various metrics in accordance with the Sempra Infrastructure Partners' Limited Partnership Agreement. Prepare additional ad hoc reports at partner's request.
  • Implements and supports innovative and automated accounting reporting tools and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable accounting role.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls (HFM and MAX experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of automated reporting systems (Workiva experience is a plus).
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
  • Ability to process transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and with moderate guidance from management.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Interact and communicate with others, verbally and orally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in US GAAP.
  • 5+ years of Energy industry experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
