This is a full time 12-hour varied shift position with call. It is located at Scripps Memorial La Jolla and offers a $4K New Hire Incentive and $3K relocation if applicable.

Join our Scripps operating room team as a Surgical Tech where you will

* ensure OR rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.

* monitor the sterile field throughout procedure as well as scrub for cases and anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team.

* take initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues, position and transport patients as necessary.

* organize room cleanup and ensure efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

• 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills. Able to multi-task and work well in a team environment. Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years' experience
• CST Certification
