JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Representative will play a fundamental role in achieving revenue growth objectives by sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and generating new leads for their location and satellite laboratories. The Business Development Representative must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as demonstrate strong organizational and follow-up skills. This is an entry level, inside sales position offering training and the opportunity to grow to an outside sales role.

Essential Functions:

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Perform outbound calls to inactive and former accounts and report pertinent information in Salesforce.com
  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Work closely with Account Managers on creation and standardization of small to large quotes
  • Route qualified opportunities and leads to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure and also enter all appropriate updates in to Salesforce.com
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest and contact and maintain annual contact with house accounts
  • Coordinate with Marketing the creation and validation of potential client opportunities in certain regions
  • Pulling and coordinating marketing lists for campaigns
  • Partner with laboratory operations to ensure customer requests are met
  • Provide excellent Customer Experience (CX) when responding to customer inquiries
  • Assist in customer training on the online portal AXIS
  • May occasionally attend customer meetings and/or trade shows
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • This is a remote position with ongoing on-site training

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven inside sales experience
  • Understanding of Laboratory testing business and services preferred
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a general office environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This job may require travel less than 20%
