Overview

Gilbane Development Company looking for Land Acquisition Associate that has a strong desire to grow within a dynamic real estate development organization. The candidate must have a keen interest in leading our land acquisition efforts for student housing across the country.

Responsibilities
    Identifying, researching, underwriting, investigating, qualifying, and managing the purchasing of land for student housing development
  • Network with brokers, developers, engineers, planners, municipalities, and landowners for new acquisition opportunities
  • Utilize GIS Software to source for opportunities with the potential for use
  • Perform preliminary due diligence and underwriting to determine the viability of each deal
  • Assist in negotiating terms and specifics of purchase and sale agreements.
  • Maintain updated land use plans and database
  • Manage a pipeline of deals through completion
  • Travel to sites throughout the US as needed, up to 50% of the time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, or related field is preferred
  • 5 years of experience in land acquisition required; Experience with student housing is required.
  • Experience with GIS software (geothinQ preferred)
  • Experience with financial modeling is preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite and GIS software
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset
