Job Description Overview

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a successful Resident Support Engineer (RSE). This position involves providing on-site and call-center technical support to the Commvault customer base. The technical support will be for the entire suite of Commvault applications.

What you'll do...

  • Perform normal day-to-day administration of the Commvault environment
  • Review daily backup reports to remedy failures and increase job success rates
  • Collect, analyze, and document information about the current Commvault environment.
  • Review customer policies and procedures to ensure that they are in line with Commvault's standard methodologies
  • Fix and optimize backup/restore throughput issues
  • Develop solutions to fix complex data movement challenges, such as backups over WAN
  • Own trouble tickets and work them to resolution

Who you are...

  • 2+ years of Backup Administration experience, preferably with Commvault (Commvault certifications a plus)
  • Practical experience in concepts such as data and information life cycle management, disaster recovery, and software performance tuning
  • Exposure to hardware devices such as Storage Arrays, Storage Area Networks, Servers, and NAS devices
  • Ability to logically solve IT issues with confidence
  • Ability to take detailed notes, work independently and efficiently, and to communicate optimally as a member of a remote workforce
  • Ability to convey highly technical information in business terms to upper-management
  • Advanced administration and fixing Windows server environments (Microsoft or other professional certifications a plus)
  • Experience with virtualization on Hyper-V, VMWare and/or Citrix Xen Server in complex, distributed or clustered environments
  • Previous experience/exposure with other backup software and concepts from Symantec, EMC, IBM, CA, HP, etc.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification a plus
  • Active government security clearance required
  • Ability to travel to onsite location at least 2 days a week

$73,000.00 - $109,300.00
